What is 'yes' Data?
'yes' Data is bonus high speed data provided for use only during Off Peak hours to some customers on Light, Sprint, Advantage or Power Optus Broadband plans and the old Unlimited or Unlimited Pro plans. 'yes' Data is provided in addition to the normal monthly plan high speed Data Allowance and it will appear separately on the Optus Internet Usage Meter. Note: The 'yes' Data suite of plans were discontinued on 9th September 2007 and replaced by the MyHome Broadband suite of plans.
If I change plans will I be eligible for 'yes' Data?
No. Existing customers on the 'yes' Data plans can continue receiving 'yes' Data, however these are discontinued plans that Optus no longer offers. If you decide to change plans you will need to select one of our MyHome Broadband range of plans and will not be able to go back to a 'yes' Data plan.
What are the Off Peak hours when my 'yes' Data - Off Peak Data allotment is available?
Off Peak hours are 12am to 12pm daily, AET (Sydney time) only. In practice, the Off Peak period may start any time between 11.45pm and 12:15am and may end any time between 11:45am and 12:15pm.
How much 'yes' Data - Off Peak Data is available for use in Off Peak hours?
The bonus high speed 'yes' Data provided for use during Off Peak hours is twice each plan's monthly (peak hour) high speed Data Allowance. For example, customers on 'yes' rewards Light enjoy 300MB of downloads in peak hours and 600MB in off peak hours.
I am on the Unlimited Plan, do I need to signup or "turn on" my 'yes' Data?
You don't need to do a thing. All customers on eligible plans who remain within their monthly plan Data Allowance automatically have use of 'yes' Data during Off Peak hours.
Will I see the usage of my 'yes' Data - Off Peak Data allotment on the Internet Usage Meter?
Yes, there is an additional visual indicator to show how much 'yes' Data - Off Peak Data has been used during the billing month.
What happens if I remove one of my bundled services with Optus? Will I still be eligible for the 'yes' Data - Off Peak Data allotment?
You must be on either 'yes' Rewards Light, Sprint, Advantage or Power plans to be eligible for 'yes' Data - Off Peak Data. If you no longer have your mobile or home telephone service with Optus, you will not be eligible for 'yes' Data - Off Peak Data.*
Will I be charged extra for the 'yes' Data - Off Peak Data appearing on my Internet Usage Meter?
'yes' Data - Off Peak Data is a bonus high speed data allotment for 'yes' Rewards customers on Light, Sprint, Advantage and Power Plans and customers on the old Unlimited and Unlimited Pro plans.* It is provided at no extra charge. If you are on an eligible plan you will automatically have access to this bonus high speed data and a visual indicator of your usage of this data will appear on your Internet Usage Meter.
If I exhaust my 'yes' Data - Off Peak Data will I be speed limited?
During Off Peak hours, first your 'yes' Data is used. If this data is exhausted, then your normal plan Data Allowance (peak data) is used even during Off Peak hours. When your normal plan Data Allowance is exhausted you will be speed limited for the remainder of the billing period. Remember, to remain eligible for 'yes' Data you must not exceed the high speed Data Allowance of your monthly plan.
If I exhaust my normal monthly plan Data Allowance (peak data) but still have 'yes' Data remaining will I be speed limited during Off Peak hours?
Yes. Once your plan Data Allowance (peak data) is used you will be speed limited at all times for the remainder of the billing period even if you have bonus 'yes' Data remaining.
* Existing customers on the Unlimited and Unlimited Pro plans can continue receiving 'yes' Data however these are discontinued plans that Optus no longer offers and as such new customers can no longer take up these offers.
